Bailey Martens is a Vancouver-based freelance journalist focusing on housing, disability and other equity issues in under-represented communities. As a disabled journalist, she is determined to tell stories that matter to her communities. Bailey is best known for her features writing, data journalism, and evocative personal essays. She has previously worked at the Toronto Star, CBC News British Columbia, the National Post and HuffPost Canada. She has also worked for four student newspapers and was the features editor at The Ubyssey, where her work led her to be a finalist for Student Journalist of the Year at the 2021 John H. McDonald awards.
